Coal City Festival

This past weekend, I was in Coal City celebrating the town's annual festival. Coal City, located in southwestern Owen County, is a small community with plenty of character. We walked in the parade, met with veterans at the American Legion post, and helped the Volunteer Fire Department serve a Fish Fry Luncheon.

Coal City and I go way back. Many of these people remember my old days playing basketball for Clay City High School and then Indiana State. But what we talked about most were the issues we are facing today. Rising energy costs and a troubled economy were on everyone's mind. I am always willing to listen, and I believe I benefit greatly from these conversations.

I feel that being State Representative means you take an active part in our district's various communities, large and small. We will continue to reach out to everyone. If I am fortunate enough to win this election, you can count on me attending these events whether or not it is an election year.

Take Care,
